Former Rangers star John Lundstram has been given pelters by Trabzonspor fans on social media after the Turkish Super Lig side were knocked out of qualifying for the Europa League.Abdullah Avci's team were beaten 3-0 by Austria Vienna over two legs, following up a 1-0 home defeat in Trabzon last week with a 1-0 loss in the Austrian capital that has seen them drop into the revamped group stages of the Conference League.
Lundstram - who along with Borna Barisic, joined Trabzonspor from Rangers on a free transfer earlier this summer - played 62 minutes of the first leg before being substituted, and was once again replaced with eight minutes left on the clock on Thursday as his team suffered another disappointing loss.Despite his exit, the 30-year-old's absence has already been felt by Light Blues boss Philippe Clement, who rued Lundstram's leadership capabilities in midfield in the wake of his side's 0-0 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle earlier this month.
But the player's early performances in his new team's colours have not gone down well with sections of the club's support, with one fan even questioning why the former Everton youngster was brought to the club.
One social media user wrote: "Will Lundstram and Pedro Malheiro terminate their contracts tomorrow and send them away?" while another added: "Lundstram has lost a thousand balls.
