John Cena is owning up to his mistake in a public apology to China. The 44-year-old F9 star made a formal apology to the country after referring to Taiwan as its own country instead of a province, as it is considered.
During an interview with Taiwanese broadcaster TVBS, John apparently said that “Taiwan is the first country that can watch” the newest Fast & Furious movie, F9.
After the interview aired, John made his apology and spoke in Mandarin on Weibo, a Chinese social media site. “I made a mistake,” he stated, via the New York Times. “Now I have to say one thing which is very, very, very important: I love and respect China and Chinese people.” He added, “I’m very sorry for my mistakes.
