John C. McGinley Joins HBO’s Steve Carell Comedy Series In ‘Scrubs’ Reunion With Creators Bill Lawrence & Matt Tarses

EXCLUSIVE: Scrubs alum John C. McGinley is reuniting with the medical comedy’s creator/executive producer Bill Lawrence and writer/co-executive producer Matt Tarses on their new comedy series for HBO, headlined and executive produced by Steve Carell.

McGinley is joining Carell, Charly Clive, Danielle Deadwyler and Phil Dunster in the cast of the untitled single-camera comedy series, which is set on a college campus and centers on an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (Clive).

McGinley will play Walter Mann, the President of the University. The first of 10 half-hour episodes was written by Lawrence and Tarses.

Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer Productions executive produce alongside Tarses and Carell. The series is produced by Doozer in association with Warner Bros.
