John Barnes reckons Liverpool are the new Manchester United when it comes to a transfer destination for Europe's top players.
Liverpool's rise in the past couple of years has been meteoric, with Jurgen Klopp having guided them to a Champions League triumph as part of an Intercontinental treble, and to complete domination of the Premier League this season.
So it's little wonder that the Reds are now being linked with the likes of RB Leipzig hotshot Timo Werner and even Paris-Saint Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
Klopp's side are not expected to spend big this summer, concentrating instead on scouring Europe for the best up-and-coming talent as they tighten their belt due to the financial impact of coronavirus.
