Joe Keery opened up about saying goodbye to Stranger Things. The 32-year-old actor has been playing Steve Harrington on the hit Netflix show since it first premiered in 2016.
This year, the fifth and final season will arrive. While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Joe reflected on wrapping production and moving on.
He also talked about his bond with his costars. Keep reading to find out more… “It’s crazy, really. It was a long year.
So we shot for about a year, and it was while I was working on this stuff,” he told Jimmy Fallon, referencing his new album The Crux. “But to wrap it all up and the anticipation of working on something for so long… I mean it’s been one-third of my life, really.” He described finishing the show as “emotional.” “We sort of got to that last day and it was like everything really hit on that last day of shooting,” he recalled, adding, “Then I stuck around and watched the other cast members wrap and it was just emotional and great.” Joe also stressed the bond he shared with his costars, saying, “Those people are family for life for me.” Netflix confirmed that production on the final season of the show had wrapped in December 2024.
