Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (born November 20, 1942) is an American politician who served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017 and represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election. He unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and in 2008.

CBS News and Stations CEO Wendy McMahon announced the interview at an Axios event on Thursday. Biden last sat down with Pelley for a 60 Minutes interview just over a year ago.
Biden has spoken several times since the Hamas attack to stress the U.S. strong support for Israel. Earlier this week, he said, “We must be crystal clear: We stand with Israel.
We stand with Israel. We will make sure it has what it needs to take care of its citizens, to defend itself, to respond to this attack,” he said.
