Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t planning to host the Oscars next year. But now he might. The ABC late-night host was responding to comments from former President Donald Trump on Truth Social.

Trump said that Kimmel was “made to look like a FOOL, which he is, and at the same time go down in Television History as the WORST HOST EVER OF THE ONCE VAUNTED ACADEMY AWARDS!” Kimmel got a laugh out of this. “I don’t know.

That must be why they asked me to host the show again next year. Which I wasn’t planning to do but now I might,” he added. “Maybe – you know what – maybe you can watch on the TV in the rec room at Riker’s with all the guys.” The comedian has hosted the last two Oscars as well as two back-to-back in 2017 and 2018.

He has been approached to return next year and is now considering hosting the event on March 2, 2025. He also took joy in Trump’s mistake that Kimmel announced the Best Picture award, mistaking him for Al Pacino.
