The actor headlined the trilogy as Peter Quill/Star Lord, and he decided to mark the last day of filming on “Vol. 3” by going back to the very beginning with a speech that called out all of the original “Guardians” haters. “I’m not a vindictive person…but I happened to have in my notes file several press clippings saved from the first movie when everyone predicted that ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ was going to be Marvel’s first flop,” Pratt recently told Fandango about the speech he gave on the last day of the “Guardians Vol. 3” set. “That was the consensus critically. Everyone was saying all of these negative things. At the time, we were insecure and nervous about the prospects….they’re saying it’s a title no one has never heard of, we don’t have any A-list stars, [it will be] Marvel’s first failure. I remember all of that.”

Richard Hawley‘s musical Standing At The Sky’s Edge is set to come to London’s West End in 2024.Following a recent successful run at the capital’s National Theatre, from next February the show, which features classic songs by Hawley to portray “a love letter to Sheffield and ode to the iconic Park Hill Estate”, will move to the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Zack Sharf Digital News Director “Euphoria” actor Barbie Ferreira opened up on the “Armchair Expert” podcast about exiting the Emmy-winning HBO series ahead of Season 3. Ferreira announced last August that she was moving on from “Euphoria” and would no longer star as Kat Hernandez. Her exit followed reports that she clashed with “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson during Season 2 due to the direction of her character. Fans noticed Kat’s storyline was sidelined in Season 2, and one rumor claimed she even walked off set during a fight with Levinson. “So, for me, when people ask me about Season 2, it’s usually they come at me with, like, I was some sort of victim to Season 2 and I’m always like, ‘No, it’s okay, promise. It’s good,'” Ferreira said on the podcast. “I kind of got sucked into this drama that I never asked to be in and that I’ve never talked about. I’m of the mindset that if it doesn’t exit I’m not going to address it because then I’m adding fuel to it. It’s taken on a life of its own. Don’t believe everything you read.”

Mark Sutherland Things are looking up for Download Festival. The hard rock and metal event will celebrate its 20th anniversary edition this year with its first-ever sell-out. The fest’s promoter, Andy Copping of Live Nation, confirms that all the weekend tickets and Saturday day tickets for this year’s 90,000-capacity festival have been snapped up, with the final remaining day tickets expected to sell out in the next few days. “We’ve done some big numbers in the past,” says Copping, speaking exclusively to Variety. “But this one has been a complete other level. The festival running for 20 years and hitting that landmark sell-out figure is incredible.”

Wilde (Frey) has just sold his company, but facing the holidays as a single man, he decides to swap houses on an LGBTQ app with handsome, Brilfax-bred Oliver (Cosnett). In their efforts to escape their woes, each end up meeting respective handsome locals in the forms of Julius (Samer Salem) and Henry (Daniel Garcia), who will spice up their visits. In the process romance ignites in both sunny L.A. and a charming, snowy town called Brilfax. Richards stars as Wilde’s lively and involved mother, Lola.

Thania Garcia Madonna paid her respects to Seymour Stein, who helped launch her career in 1983 after signing her to Sire Records, with a touching tribute post dedicated to the exec. Stein died at age 80 on Sunday after a long battle with cancer. When the pair first met, Madonna was a relatively unknown Manhattan club act but quickly vaulted to superstardom upon signing to Sire. Under Stein’s wing, the singer produced three No. 1 albums, 10 No. 1 singles and a total of 23 top-10 hits before launching her own Maverick imprint in 1992. “Seymour Stein Has Left Us! I need to catch my breath,” Madonna wrote in the caption of an Instagram post on Monday that detailed the moment she and Stein met. As the story goes, the music mogul eagerly signed Madonna after hearing a demo of her song “Everybody” while he was recovering from open-heart surgery.
