Jet2 has issued an apology to passengers over any “disruption” to flights arriving into and departing from the UK. The airline has warned travellers of disruption to flights on Monday, December 23 following stormy weather conditions over the weekend.

Weather warnings were issued by the Met Office for Saturday and Sunday as the UK was battered by strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 82mph in Scotland.

At Manchester Airport pilots battled the winds as they landed, with some having to abort their first landings and attempt a second time.

Although all weather warnings have now been removed and conditions are expected to improve, Jet2 has said it is still monitoring forecasts as the weather settles down.
