Jerry Remy was an All-Star second baseman for the Boston Red Sox as well as a color commentator after his retirement.Remy began his Major League Baseball career with the California Angels in 1975 before being traded to the Red Sox in 1977.
He spent seven seasons playing for the Red Sox, selected for the All-Star Game in 1978. After his 1986 retirement from his playing career, Remy began working for the New England Sports Network (NESN) as a color commentator for Red Sox games.
A fan favorite, he remained in that position for decades, only stepping away from it a few months before his death. Remy’s longtime association with the Red Sox gained him a spot in the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 2006.
