TV presenter Jenny Powell braved the freezing sea on Boxing Day as she took on the challenge of cold water swimming in Cheshire.The 55 year old star stripped down to a simple blue swimming costume - complete with pink star on the bum - as she showed off her age-defying figure and took on the surprising cold water swimming challenge.Taking to Instagram to document her dip into the less than balmy waters, Jenny shared a video of the exact moment she took the plunge and even captioned the clip: “Cold water swimming today after yoga !

You tried it yet?” In the video, Jenny could be seen walking into the water where she exclaimed: “Freezing!” While a second voice warned her to be aware of her footing and to be careful with her knee, Joined by two friends for the refreshing dip, the outing was far from Jenny’s first foray into cold water swimming as she previously opened up about her love of the pastime earlier this year.The star was originally inspired to try cold-water swimming by her fiancé Martin Lowe, 48 after he incorporated it into his own strongman training routine to stay in shape.

Reflecting on the process back in November, Jenny wrote: “I’m hooked .. the benefits of cold water swimming are incredible .This day @anotherplacehotels @ullswater_swim_place @ullswaterlakedistrict the outside temperature was below freezing and the lake was a perfect 7 degrees!” The star then went on to list all of the benefits she had found from the chilly swim, which included mood boosting, increased immunity, decreased inflammation and even a stress buster!
