A 'controlling, jealous' bully broke his girlfriend's hip in a pub attack and made cruel jibes about her seriously ill mum, a court heard.
John Rice was caught on CCTV rushing at the woman and knocking her to floor before running away, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Just a day earlier, on August 13 last year, 56-year-old Rice he had lunged at the woman over a fence of a bar and threatened to assault her brother and smash up her car.
When the woman told Rice to leave her alone as her mother had been diagnosed with cancer and she 'had enough to deal with', he said: 'Good, I hope she dies and then you'll have no one'.
