Jay-Z has released a statement in response to claims against him. The 55-year-old rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was named in a new sexual assault lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, claiming they raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000.
This lawsuit was first filed in October, but only had Diddy listed as the defendant, and was refiled to add Jay Z‘s name. Keep reading to find out more… In the suit, a “Jane Doe” states Jay-Z and Diddy both raped her after bringing her to an after party following the MTV VMAs.
Now, Jay-Z has reacted to the claims, slamming the accusations, calling this a blackmail attempt and calling the lawyer, Tony Buzbee, and the accuser a fraud. “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee.
What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” Jay-Z said in his statement, which was released through the Roc Nation social accounts. “No sir, it had the opposite effect!
