Jay Slater's mum has made a touching request for mourners coming to his funeral after his autopsy results have revealed the tragic way he died.
Following an extensive month-long search, the teenager's body was finally recovered in the Spanish island of Tenerife. As reported by the Mirror, an autopsy found the 19-year-old suffered multiple injuries consistent with a fall in the mountainous terrain.
He is understood to have died immediately. His devastated mum Debbie Duncan has revealed - 19 days after he was found following a month-long search - she has returned home to Britain with his body.
The 55-year-old last week made the heartbreaking journey from Tenerife to Manchester Airport, alongside Jay's dad Warren, 58, and Jay's brother Zak, 24.Matt Searle, of LBT Global, the missing persons charity which helped the family repatriate Jay's body, said: "The family of tragic Brit Jay Slater returned to the UK last week, on the same day that Jay’s body was repatriated."A UK post mortem was ordered by the coroner, and this concluded that Jay’s death was caused by traumatic head injuries, consistent with the fall from height.
