Donations which poured in to support Jay Slater's family are funding a specialist search team's arrival from the Netherlands, the teenager's mum has revealed.
More than £52,000 has now been raised on a GoFundMe page which was set up following the teenager's disappearance. Tenerife police called off the official search for the 19-year-old Lancashire lad on June 30, 13 days after he went missing in the Rural Parc de Teno.
The remote area of north-west Tenerife is more than 30km from where he had been partying with friends in Playa de las Americas the night before, and where they had been staying, in Los Cristianos.
Jay travelled back from a rave at the Papagayo club to a remote Airbnb, on the outskirts of the Masca village, having been invited by two men.
