Jason Momoa is back in the DC cinematic universe – albeit this time as a new character.Between 2016 and 2023, Momoa was a part of Zack Snyder‘s DC Extended Universe as Aquaman and appeared in two standalone films, and had cameo in other DC projects.

Now, Momoa has confirmed his return to the DC Universe under the leadership of James Gunn as the villainous Lobo.Momoa broke the news via social media, where he shared an excerpt of an interview he did recently in which he spoke of his affinity for Lobo: “He was always my favourite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like ‘Hello?

Per Deadline, Momoa’s official debut as Lobo will come in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow starring Milly Alcock as the titular hero.A release date for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has yet to be confirmed, though it is expected to release in 2026.
