Jason Manford had his fans in stitches as he told them about an elderly woman passenger he picked up as part of his volunteer driving job.
The Salford-born comedian is currently helping out by ferrying the elderly and needy to and from hospital. And one passenger in particular tickled him when she said he “sounds like that Jason Mumford”.
Jason, who signed up for the NHS volunteer service last month after Britain went into lockdown, has to wear a mask and gloves as part of his job.
In a video diary, he told his Facebook followers the sweet story after announcing that his stage show Curtains, filmed at the Palace Theatre, will be streamed online this evening, with all profits going to charity.
