There are some characters in football who, when they speak, you listen.And for Jason Denayer, Patrick Vieira is one of them.
The former Celtic loanee revealed it was an order from the French legend that set the ball rolling on a move to Parkhead. Denayer spent a season in Glasgow from Manchester City, where Vieira worked as development squad manager, winning a Premiership and League Cup double.
The Belgian, now at Lyon, "didn't think twice" about joining Ronny Deila 's side and insists the spell was vital to his development. "I was at Manchester City and during the summer of 2014 and Patrick Vieira came to my house," Denayer told The Scottish Sun. "He said to me, 'Look, the Celtic coach has called me'.
