It’s been a busy weekend for Janet Jackson… But for all the wrong reasons. Over the weekend, Michael Jackson’s little sister caused quite the stir by repeating some untrue rhetoric about Kamala Harris, which can be traced back to her presidential opponent Donald Trump.

Basically, in an interview with The Guardian published on Saturday, the All for You singer questioned whether Kamala is truly Black.

In response to a question about how she would feel about Kamala being the first female Black president, she responded: After being corrected by a journalist who informed her that Kamala is both Indian and Black, the 58-year-old perpetuated a blatant lie.

She said: For the record, it’s well documented that Kamala’s father, Donald J. Harris, is Jamaican. In addition to the comments about Kamala’s heritage, Janet also responded to a question about whether she believes America is ready for a female president.
