mirror.co.ukIt is with sadness that we learned that Jane McDonald had lost her beloved partner Ed Rothe. It was announced on Wednesday (April 7) that Eddie "Ed" Rothe, the former drummer for The Searchers, had died on March 26 after a battle with lung cancer.
The Loose Women star, 58, had been partners with Ed from 2008 but their love story actually began decades earlier. As teens the pair had had a dalliance before coming together again by chance years later.
The pair first met in 1980 when she worked at a furniture store in Wakefield, West Yorks and worked in a pub on the side. They met at the pub when Ed's pop band Liquid Gold played a gig there.
