Grace and Frankie character, but she may still have inspired some of Grace's sexiest storylines.In her new , and environmental activist opened up to about how her best-selling 2012 book about aging, , may have impacted her Netflix series. “Grace and Frankie was created by the writers, not by and me,” Fonda asserted. “In fact, I had very, very little to do with the creation of the scripts as we went along.”Still, that doesn't mean her life didn't serve as inspiration, especially considering the actor provided the writers with her book. “A number of years prior to making the series, I had written a book that became a best-seller called Prime Time about getting older, and it included everything including very detailed information about sex, and so I gave it to the writers and I could weigh in quite a bit,” Fonda said. “Not on the writing—just because you can write a book doesn’t mean you know anything about how to write a comedic sitcom—but about sex, about the problems of sex when you’re older and the joys and the possibilities and vibrators and all of that, and I think that maybe that helped inspire them.”In case you don't know, the hit Netflix series follows the story of two women in their seventies, Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin), who forge a strong friendship after learning that their husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) have been having an affair behind their backs for years.
