CHEF Jamie Oliver is planning a six-figure revamp of his £6million home, less than a year after his restaurant chain collapsed.

Jamie, 44, is said to be looking to make several changes, such as automatic gates, a new drive and upgrades to his oak-panelled library within in the Tudor mansion.

The TV chef - whose restaurant chain collapsed last year with the loss of 1,000 jobs - has brought in a top planning consultancy to lodge an application for the work to be carried out.

The property, which is known as Spains Hall, is located near Braintree in Essex. The plans, which are expected to cost a six-figure sum to carry out, would see new automatic ornamental iron gates fitted at the 250-metre long driveway of the sprawling family estate.
