Jamie Oliver was overcome with emotion as he was forced to wave goodbye to the pub that sparked his high-flying career. His mum Sally and dad Trevor have been proud owners of The Cricketers in Essex since 1976, but it's time for the pair to move on as they've sold the pub to a chain, which has left the famous TV chef devastated.
Jamie, 45, is said to be "heartbroken" as the pub where he spent most of his childhood "ignited his passion for food". A source close to the chef told The Sun: "He agrees it's time for Trevor and Sally to move on, but that doesn't make it any easier for him to stomach.
