Jamie Foxx and Michael B Jordan’s movie Just Mercy has now been made available to stream for free for the month of June. Warner Bros.
Pictures has announced that the film will be free to rent on multiple streaming services in the US for the month of June, as a way of teaching others about systemic racism.
The move comes amid anti-racism protests currently taking place across the US, sparked by the death of 46-year-old George Floyd – who died after he was arrested and a white police officer knelt on his neck for over eight minutes.
Just Mercy tells the real-life story of Walter McMillian (played by Foxx), a black man who is wrongly convicted of the murder of an 18-year-old white woman and sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit.
