Jamie Carragher has urged Erik ten Hag to offload both Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo if he is confirmed as Manchester United’s new manager.
United look to be closing in on an appointment, with Ajax expecting Ten Hag to become United’s next manager. The 52-year-old became the club’s preferred candidate last month, having been one of the frontrunners alongside Mauricio Pochettino since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking back in November.
Ten Hag was interviewed by United two weeks ago and could become the club’s second Dutch manager following Louis van Gaal. United are yet to confirm anything surrounding their next permanent appointment, but are aiming to make an announcement before the end of the season. The pundit though has urged the incoming boss to make a huge call over his squad. “I think it's a good decision, I think it's a brave decision,” Carragher told CBS Sports. “The easy choice would have been Pochettino because he's been in the Premier League before, so they've gone for a manager who's not been in the Premier League. "They've always gone with the established name if you like in terms of Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal.
