James Tavernier has warned that Rangers ’ title hopes are on the line if they don’t sort out their home form. The Ibrox captain rescued a point against Aberdeen with a late penalty on Wednesday night but admitted he was at fault for the Dons second goal - scored by Scott Brown - that left the hosts with a mountain to climb after just 15 minutes.
The 2-2 draw was the third time this term that Steven Gerrard ’s side have dropped points at home, having previously drawn with Motherwell and Hearts, and Tavernier insists that’s good enough.
Resurgent Celtic have closed to within two points at the top of the league and Tavernier admitted that his side needs to improve to keep them at arms’ length.
