Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

James McFadden issues Rangers red card verdict as pundit warns Steven Gerrard's side they 'have a target on their back'

Rangers should have been playing against 10 men in their defeat to Dundee United after Charlie Mulgrew dodged a red card. The defender was turned by Alfredo Morelos and hauled him to the deck when it appeared El Bufalo might have a shooting chance.

Referee Don Robertson flashed a yellow, judging that Ryan Edwards was close enough to cover Mulgrew’s error. But McFadden felt the Scotland international got away with one as his team went on to record a famous win.

He said on Sportscene: "When you see it at full speed, it looks to me that Morelos is going clear. He takes a brilliant touch and Edwards is covering, but I think that Morelos is clear and he’s going into the box. “I think he’s favourite and can get a shot away.
