James Craven teases ‘life after Corrie’ following harrowing rape scenes
ok.co.ukWith Aaron Sandford (James Craven) realising his wrongdoings in tonight’s episode of Coronation Street, he and dad Eric Sandford (Craig Cheetham) have officially left the cobbles.
It’s been a difficult storyline to watch since the rape scenes aired earlier this year. Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) has been struggling in the aftermath, particularly as Aaron refused to accept the fact she did not consent.
But Amy got some sort of closure in the latest episode when Aaron read her legal retraction, and he was forced to look back at his actions.
James Craven who plays Aaron comments on how he feels about both the storyline and his time on Coronation Street coming to an end. “I was always hoping that Aaron would admit it,” says James. “I liked that there wasn’t anything particularly overly dramatic about it, and I think unfortunately that is quite realistic, because there are so many of these cases in real life where people don't face justice and people aren't prosecuted for it. “So I think whilst that's obviously quite a hard thing to come to terms with for Amy, it is sadly quite realistic.
