Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

James Arthur has “a lot of sympathy” for Lewis Capaldi after the Forget Me star took a break from ­performing live.The former X Factor ­winner has had his own struggles with anxiety and depression but is keen to support Lewis.The West Lothian star is taking a break to concentrate on his mental wellbeing after struggling with Tourette’s during his show at ­Glastonbury in June.Speaking at a showcase for upcoming album Bitter Sweet Love, James said: “I know Lewis and I have a lot of sympathy for what he’s going through.“As someone who’s been doing it for over 10 years, I was concerned when I saw he’d announced a big world tour. "That’s a lot of pressure.

A lot of his music is very ­musically demanding and draining.
