Keeper Jak Alnwick admits “anything could happen” as his Saints contract continues to tick towards running out. The Buddies stopper was in incredible form yet again against Hearts on Saturday, making a number of impressive close-range stops to keep his 10-man side within touching distance of the Edinburgh club.

His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with a number of clubs keeping a keen eye on the former Newcastle and Rangers goalie as his current deal with St Mirren expires this summer.

Many Saints fans are already fearing a raid from former manager Jim Goodwin, now in charge at Aberdeen, who was a huge admirer of the keeper and was actively trying to convince him to stay in Paisley over the last few months before he joined the Dons.

While Alnwick revealed he isn’t quite sure where his future lies, he’s comfortable with the situation and insists he’s not concerned a new deal hasn’t been signed yet. When asked about speaking to his new boss Stephen Robinson about signing a new deal, Alnwick told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “We had a little bit of a conversation, but we have games coming up thick and fast.“We know where we stand between me, him and the club.“My agent is speaking to Tony Fitzpatrick quite regularly and we are just monitoring the situation.“He knows that there’s interest and stuff like that.“It’s going to be a decision between me and my agent and the club.
