Rangers defender Jack Simpson has penned a two-year deal with Cardiff City as he leaves Ibrox for an undisclosed fee. The centre-back signed for Gers from Bournemouth in January last year but struggled to make his mark and only made one appearance under Gio van Bronckhorst from the bench in a Scottish Cup tie against Annan.
And with John Souttar and Ben Davies arriving to boost their defensive options, the door was opened to the 25-year-old to leave.
English Championship side Cardiff have now confirmed his signing, and a Rangers statement reads: "Rangers can today confirm the departure of Jack Simpson to English Championship side Cardiff City on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
Simpson leaves Rangers with the best wishes of everyone at the club." Simpson told the Cardiff website: "I'm very excited to join the club.
