Jack Ingram was a NASCAR Hall of Famer known as “The Iron Man,” who won Xfinity Series championships in 1982 and 1985.Ingram got his start in NASCAR at the New Asheville Speedway in Asheville, North Carolina.
He had 31 Xfinity Series wins, setting a series record that held until 1997. In his earlier racing days, Ingram raced in the Late Model Sportsman series, winning three titles and 286 races.
His victorious NASCAR years came relatively late in his career, when he was in his 40s and 50s. Ingram was a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.“Back in those days you had to race several times a week all over the place if you wanted to win a championship.
