Jack Butland has held onto most of the shots he's faced this season.And the Rangers shot-stopper is refusing to let go of the hope that performances at Ibrox might win him a dream slot in England’s squad for this summer’s Euros.
The former Stoke, Crystal Palace and Manchester United keeper hasn’t featured for the Three Lions since winning his ninth cap in a friendly against Switzerland back in September 2018.
He was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2018 World Cup having also travelled with Roy Hodgson’s side to the Euros in 2012.And he’d love nothing more than to claim a seat on the plane to this summer’s finals in Germany.
Southgate doesn’t have much form when it comes to picking players from Scotland. But having seen the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Alan Thompson and Fraser Foster all win international honours while based north of the border, Butland is clinging to the belief he can be next.
