Jaap Stam has unpacked how hard it might be for Erik ten Hag to find a suitable replacement for David de Gea at Manchester United, should the club opt to find a new No.1.
The Manchester Evening News understands that the Spaniard is at risk of losing his first-choice status going forward with United keeping tabs on Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
The 32-year-old is under the spotlight following his error for the only goal of the game in Sunday’s 1-0 loss to West Ham. Speaking to MEN Sport, he said: “We can say we want a different goalkeeper, a new goalkeeper - first you need to look if there’s a better goalkeeper around that you can buy than De Gea. “It’s easy to say we can get rid of him and bring somebody else in.
