Croatia have been more Shetland ponies than thoroughbreds so far. The Balkan big guns looked clapped out against England and barely got into a canter against the Czechs.
But Ivan Perisic has warned Scotland the real Croatia will be back in the saddle tonight when the head in to the Group D home straight.
The attacker has been around the national team for more than a decade and he knows they can come up with the goods when the heat is on.Croatia have a habit of turning it on when it matters, going back to their run to the World Cup last four in France in 1998 and the unlikely march to the final to face Les Bleus in Moscow three years ago.They’ve been a shadow of their former selves in this tournament so far but Perisic reckons the Scots.
