Naman Ramachandran Broadcaster ITV will be the new home of the Oscars ceremony in the U.K. On Tuesday, ITV announced the news as part of a new multi-year deal with Disney Entertainment.
The ceremony will be broadcast on ITV1 and streamer ITVX. The agreement will also see future Oscars made available across ITV platforms and programming, including ITV1 and ITVX, ITVX social channels and news and magazine shows.
The ceremony was previously hosted on Comcast’s pay-TV operator Sky for 20 years. Sky got the rights to the broadcast back from the BBC in 2004.
Previously, the two companies had taken turns hosting the awards ceremony for several years. It was revealed in August that Sky, the U.K.’s largest pay-TV broadcaster, had given up the rights to Hollywood’s biggest awards ceremony.
