ITV's This Morning was snubbed at the BAFTA TV Awards, with fellow ITV daytime shows Loose Women and Lorraine both receiving nominations.Scots star Lorraine Kelly's show - which airs weekdays at 10 am on ITV - is now fighting it out with Loose Women and the Men's special episode, which are all up for goings in the daytime category.
However, This Morning, which recently saw a shake-up introducing new permanent hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, was noticeably absent from the nominee list.Back in 2018, when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield still sat on the beloved sofa, This Morning won a Special Award from BAFTA, reports OK!.
The award was given to celebrate 30 years of the daytime show and the "continuing success of its creative and innovative approach to daytime television production".However, much has changed for the show since then, after Phillip admitted to an unwise but not illegal affair with a younger male colleague, the former daytime fan-favourite has been battling an ongoing crisis.Away from daytime TV, Netflix's The Crown is leading the way at the BAFTAs with eight nominations.Among the nominations for the sixth series, which was released in two parts last year, is Dominic West, who played Charles, then the Prince of Wales, who has been nominated for best leading actor.Salim Daw, who portrayed Mohamed Al-Fayed, Dodi Fayed's dad, has been nominated for best supporting actor.The series also bagged two nominations in the supporting actress category.Elizabeth Debicki, who played Diana, Princess of Wales, and Lesley Manville, who portrayed Princess Margaret, have both been nominated.Other actresses up for the supporting award include Dame Harriet Walter for Succession, Jasmine Jobson for Top Boy, Nico Parker
