Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
This Morning's very own Dermot O'Leary is branching out as the ITV favourite prepares to shine in Netflix's upcoming holiday feature.
Alison Hammond broke the joyous news to fans during Friday's instalment of the programme. Viewers were treated to a mock-up preview, revealing that the festive flick comes from Richard Curtis, known for classics like Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
The star-studded cast includes Successions Brian Cox, Jodie Whittaker and Bill Nighy, with music from Ed Sheeran. Alison commented: "Dermot O'Leary, genuinely is in a Hollywood movie, a blockbuster for Christmas!" She informed viewers that the film, titled That Christmas, will hit screens on December 4, prompting her to coax Dermot into standing up for a celebratory bow, reports the Mirror.
Amidst cheers and applause from the crew, Dermot shared insights about his involvement in the animated movie, stating: "I play, the part of Mr Chop, it's some of my finest work." A sneak preview was aired featuring Dermot, after which he gratefully acknowledged the support: "Thanks everyone!
