Chef and Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer, 60, has accidently let slip that he's a part of this year's ITV singing competition, The Masked Singer - or has he?

Fans were shocked as the host spilled the beans on air that he is in fact Dippy Egg as he chatted to Absolutely Fabulous legend Julia Sawalha, 55, after she was recently unveiled as Bubble Tea on the hit show.

As the pair reflected on her time on the show, the star seemed to forget himself in the moment. He said: "I always assumed that you picked your own costumes," Simon commented. "Because I know when I …" Continuing, Simon said: "Because I know with me as Dippy… ooh!" Before he could finish his sentence, he realised his 'mistake' and immediately put his hand over his face. "I think I gave it away then," he whispered to his Sunday Brunch co-host Tim Lovejoy.

It's unclear whether the chef, who was recently forced to close his beloved Manchester restaurant after 33 years, was joking or whether he had made a genuine mistake but his guest, Julia's jaw hit the ground as she looked completely shocked, before the group moved on to another subject.
