MALAYA has everything in place to land another big pot with a victory in the Betfair Exchange Trophy (3.35) at Ascot. To capture the £56,950 first prize, Paul Nicholls’ mare must turn round course and distance running with Kid Commando, who beat her by four and three-quarter lengths at the end of October.
But the winner, who made all that day, won’t get a quiet time of things up front this time. The race should pan out ideally for a horse held up for a late run.
Harry Cobden’s mount is at her best at two miles on soft ground – and she exploited identical conditions for remunerative successes here in March 2018 and at Sandown Park 12 months later.
