ITV Love Island's Sammy Root teases career change after Jess Harding split

Love Island 2023 winner Sammy Root has hinted at a major career shift following his split from Jess Harding, shortly after the pair won the show.The 22 year old heartthrob revealed he's keen to return to boxing "properly" in the New Year.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said: "I don't specifically do New Year's resolutions. I'm quite strict with myself throughout the year with my fitness and stuff. "To be fair, next year, I've always boxed my whole life and I really do want to get back into that.

I think my New Year's resolution is to really focus on my boxing and get back to that properly. If I had one, it would be that." Despite his boxing ambitions, Sammy confessed he's not ruling out more reality TV stints.

He added: "Love Island was literally the best experience of my life and I had a lot of fun on there. I actually enjoy being on TV, it's a laugh, I like to watch myself.
