She was raised by her mother and the two lived in Jane's godparents' council house. Speaking about her upbringing on Loose Women, the host described how her godparents' two sons were in the army and during summer holidays they would take her with them to squaddies training camps. "I would have been 10 or 11 at the time.
You know when they train to take injured people off the mountain, they'd put me on the stretcher, I'd be the dummy and they'd be lowering me off mountains. ," Jane said on the show.
She continued: "They were kind of like my male role models cause I didn't have a dad and they really looked after me. They were fantastic.
