As ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! prepares to hit our screens on Sunday 19 November, the show's medics have spilled the beans on why celebs always wear red socks.

The show, which started in 2002, has seen stars donning red socks as part of their jungle uniform throughout its history and this year a fresh batch of celebs will be slipping into the classic I'm A Celeb attire for the 23rd series.

Ahead of the show's launch, the star-studded line-up has already been announced and includes Britney Spears' sister Jamie-Lynn, TV star Sam Thompson, This Morning's Josie Gibson, First Dates' Fred Sirieix, YouTuber Nella Rose, ex-politician Nigel Farage, food critic Grace Dent, JLS's Marvin Humes, EastEnders' Danielle Harold, and Hollyoaks ' Nick Pickard.

And while viewers at home may know that the iconic red socks are a key part of the 'uniform', there's a rather gross reason behind this choice.
