John Simm, aged 54, makes his comeback as the titular detective in ITV's hit crime drama Grace and shares how unsettling it was to start the new series with Detective Roy Grace having a rare moment of leisure.
Filming the off-duty scenes proved eerily unusual for John. "It was quite weird for me," confesses John Simm, "I didn't feel like Roy Grace because I wasn't wearing the suit.
I didn't put it on for the first week of filming and it didn't feel right." However, there was no time to fixate on costume conundrums - the calm is swiftly shattered when Roy is plunged back into peril amid a bomb threat at a football match.
