Emmerdale fans think they've figured out a twist involving serial killer Meena Jutla that will see her stay in the Yorkshire village until the autumn.

The evil character's fate was revealed during last night's episode (17 February), which saw Meena survive her horror fall. Dr Liam Cavanagh was arrested for attempted murder, but he was eventually set free - with Meena taken by police for questioning.

The GP pushed Meena off the same bridge where she killed his daughter Leanna Cavanagh last summer and fans were convinced it might finally end her killer streak once and for all. Faizal Perager shared on Twitter: "Emmerdale Psycho Meena isn't dead. She'll recover, be arrested for her crimes, go to Prison and then she'll return more unhinged for revenge on everyone in October in the show's big 50th Anniversary Week episodes!" Twitter user James said: "Now I think about it I can see Meena escaping prison and coming back for the 50th anniversary causing chaos which I have to say I wouldn’t complain because she is one of the best villains in soaps." "Keeping Meena for the 50th anniversary special. #emmerdale," Jfield added, while SisterSkingo was not so keen on the idea, writing: "If they drag this out to October I will be vex yuh see #emmerdale." It comes after show bosses teased a huge 50th anniversary on the ITV soap.
