Emmerdale seems to have revealed the identity of April Windsor's abductor, and it's not who viewers might anticipate. Teenage character April (played by Amelia Flanagan) disappeared from the Dales during the Christmas period, last seen entering an unfamiliar car driven by an unknown person.

April's vanishing act followed a tense time in her relationship with Marlon, after she discovered the truth about her mother Donna's (portrayed by Verity Rushworth) death in 2014.

Subsequently, April turned to alcohol and drugs before going missing. Since then, her father Marlon (Mark Charnock) has been left distraught, resolved to find out where April is, along with the rest of the village.

However, in Thursday's episode (January 2), there was a dramatic twist when Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), a young medical trainee, was on shift in A&E.
