Emmerdale has promised to "captivate audiences" as it teases two upcoming February storylines in "haunting" new trailers. With Valentine's Day on the horizon, the ITV soap is exchanging the usual lovey-dovey affair for a more sinister twist, and they've confirmed that "romance turns into terror".
The first trailer was released on Friday (February 7) and started with a helium heart-shaped balloon floating ominously from the Woolpack Pub before it deflates and falls by the side of the limo that's crashed into the icy lake.
Before the trailer ends, viewers are shown the familiar hand under the ice desperate to get out. This flashforward was first teased to fans on New Year's Eve to highlight what to expect in 2025.
Emmerdale have confirmed that at least 16 villagers could be in trouble with this first storyline, as there are two limos filled with well-loved members of the cast but there's no clue yet as to which limo ends up in icy peril.
