Emmerdale fans reckon they've sussed out the downfall of Gus Malcolm. Last year Rhona Goskirk discovered that her ex, Gus, and his partner Lucy were expecting a baby - this was after they'd told Rhona they couldn't have kids due to fertility problems.

Rhona and Gus had gone through IVF years ago, resulting in some embryos being frozen. When they broke up, Rhona thought these embryos were destroyed.

Howver, Gus stopped this from happening and asked if he and Lucy could use them, reports The Mirror Online. Rhona said no, but Gus went ahead and forged her signature.

Lucy then got pregnant with Rhona's embryo. Sadly, Lucy passed away while giving birth to baby Ivy, leaving Gus heartbroken and Rhona feeling torn about the baby.
