Emmerdale fans are calling for the return of a farming-focused family, reminiscent of the show's early days when it first aired in 1972 as Emmerdale Farm.
Originally centred around the Sugden family on the farm, the show's name was shortened to Emmerdale in 1989 to better represent the broader village life.
In a dramatic twist, the village itself was renamed from Beckindale to Emmerdale following a plane crash storyline in 1994. Currently, Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J.
Robb, resides at Butler's Farm, and Wylies Farm lies abandoned within the Home Farm Estate. However, viewers are voicing their desire for a new farm and fresh characters to be introduced.
