He's found himself in conflict with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), the latter of whom he had a brief fling with.
In his first scenes, John and Aaron slept together in his van, before John drove off with Aaron's wallet and keys, leaving him furious.
The situation escalated when Aaron discovered that John is the half-brother of his ex-husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), however, is thrilled to have a brother and is eager to build a relationship with him.
